The chief minister was speaking at the 77thstate-level "Shaheedi Mahasammelan" to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh at village Sangar Sarista in district Sirsa today.
Khattar announced that a public holiday on July 31 and a restricted holiday on December 26, the birth anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh, would be observed every year.
Reiterating the commitment of his government to uplift all sections of the society, Khattar said that during its 1,000 day tenure, several significant steps had been taken.
He also lauded the role played by saints and social organisations in creating awareness among people about social evils.
