Future bass electronic duo B.R.E.E.D is debuting at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival, an event held annually in the deserts of Indio, California in the US.
The festival, which is in its 16th year now, has announced the lineup for its 'Do-Lab stage' that presents a mix of music and improvisational performances, will see B.R.E.E.D playing on the first weekend starting April 10.
B.R.E.E.D, an electronic music duo comprising Mumbai based underground music DJ-producer Ritesh D'Souza and Los Angeles- based Tara Mae, a classically-trained pianist and vocalist, define their music as a mix of future bass music and classical and orchestral elements.
"Our music is a unique mix of future bass music, mixed with exotic classical and orchestral elements and raw vocals. We love abstract sound design as well and use it in a lot of our track," the duo said in an email interview.
Expressing excitement at being the first ever Indian act to play at the iconic Coachella festival, the musicians said they can't wait to share their experiences with Indian fans.
"We are ready to slay it at Coachella and our live set is getting ready to go. We can't wait to share pictures and videos with our Indian fans. We think they will be happy to catch some of our footage after the festival if they can't be there," they said.
Working together since the past 8 years, and now based in Los-Angeles, the musicians talk about how the band was formed and about the music they make.
They believe in working hard towards their goal and not taking their eyes off it, even it gets tough and dish out the same advice to they give to aspiring artists and DJs in India.
"Stay focused on your goal and work very hard towards it even if it gets tough, do not take your eye off of it, if it is something you deeply want to accomplish
"We made the decision to put ourselves in a place that would expose us to new opportunities and bring us closer to bigger goals. However, those decisions were not easy ones, and it was definitely not a quick maneuver that brought us to Coachella" the musicians said.
