The 30-year-old "Goodies" star launched a USD 15 million defamation lawsuit against Future in February, accusing him of knowingly making false and defamatory statements about her parenting skills on social media in January.
Ciara never responded to the comments, but in her lawsuit she claimed Future started the feud because he wanted to stir up publicity for his business projects, including his upcoming album, Evol, reported Us Weekly.
She also alleged Future, 32, was trying to ruin her reputation professionally, stating his comments had negatively affected her business relationships.
Future is now firing back with his own lawsuit. In his legal filings, the 32-year-old claims Ciara's fame has been declining in the past few years and her last album, Jackie, was a flop.
He is asking the court to bar Ciara from speaking about him negatively in public and for her to pay his legal fees.
Ciara and Future parted ways in 2014. She is now engaged to American football star Russell Wilson.
