African country Gabon will set up a furniture cluster in a Special Economic Zone there and is wooing Indian investors, especially from Rajasthan, to set shop, the project's CEO Jasveer Singh said today.
Gabon SEZ is an industrial development project that offers a host of incentives to investors like no income tax for first ten years and preferential rate of 5 per cent over the next five years, Singh told reporters here.
As on date, SEZ has 75 clients from 15 countries and 40 per cent of the developed area has been taken by companies in the wood sector, he said.
Eight per cent of land in the SEZ has already been sold and companies that are investing in wood factories are mainly from China, Malaysia, America, Netherlands, Pakistan and India, he added.
