five persons, poilce today busted a gambling den which was running in the cashew forest near Ghuruni in Gajapati district.
Acting on an information, a police team raided the area in the evening of Wednesday and arrested the five who belonged to Patpatnam in Andhra Pradesh, police officials said.
Ten motor-cycles, five mobile phones, about Rs 55,800 cash were seized from the spot located in Odisha-Andhra border area, they said adding about seven others who were in the den at the time of raids escaped.
Several persons, mainly businessmen and contractors, from the nearby areas in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh thronged the den for gambling, he said.
