Renewable energy firm Gamesa has bagged an order for 90 MW from independent wind energy company SMDPL.
SMDPL is a joint venture between France-based EDF Energies Nouvelles and SITAC Group.
As per the agreement, Gamesa would offer a complete turnkey solution with supply of 45 units (90 MW) of G114-2.0MW T 106 turbine in districts of Rajkot, Amreli, and Jamnagar in Gujarat, a company statement said.
Earlier this year, Gamesa had signed a 52 MW order with SMDPL which entails supply of 26 units of G97-2.0MW T 104 turbine. The project is currently under execution. The total order book size with SMDPL including the new order is now 142 MW.
"We are delighted to announce the new order from EDF EN and SITAC. The importance for renewable energy is growing at a robust pace and we are happy to be leading the wind turbine market at the right place and time," Gamesa India Chairman and Managing Director Ramesh Kymal said.
"We are confident that with our understanding of the Indian market and our excellence in service, we will be able to help EDF EN and SITAC accelerate their growth in renewable energy space," he said.
