"Under this contract, Gamesa will be responsible for engineering & design, supply of inverters, erection and commissioning of the 15 MW solar farm," the company said in a statement.
The project is expected to be commissioned within the first quarter of 2016, it said.
"Today India is one of the most promising markets for solar energy... This being our third project overall, will help us harness the huge solar potential in the country," Gamesa India Chairman and Managing Director Ramesh Kymal said.
"Given that this is our second solar project in Tamil Nadu, it is testimony to the progress we have made since our entry into the solar space in July last year," Executive Vice President-Solar Business Unit-Gamesa India K V Sajay said.
