Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang which used rob commuters after offering them cheap rides on Ring Road with the arrest of a person.
As per the police, Vipin Kumar was arrested by South-East Delhi police on Wednesday.
Police have also recovered a Honda City car, Rs 7,000 cash, a screw driver used to commit the crime and some belongings of the victims.
"In the last 15 days, there have been several cases of robbery on the Ring Road especially on the stretch from Moolchand to Sarai Kale Khan between 9 to 12 PM in the night.
"These robbers used to choose their target from the bus stops where the victims were found waiting for the bus or any conveyance," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) P Karunakaran.

In the last 15 days, three such incidents were reported in the area of Maharani Bagh and Sarai Kale Khan which falls under Sunlight Colony police station, he said.
The criminals also used to withdraw money from ATM after taking the card and pin number from the victims.
Police worked out minute details and the description of the criminals shared by victims. Footage from the ATM where the withdrawal was made was also obtained from the bank.
Policemen in plain clothes were placed around the bus stops on the Ring Road. All these efforts bore fruit on Wednesday when Kumar was arrested, police said.
On Kumar's interrogation, it was known that he was part of a gang which usually targeted commuters. They keep themselves positioned in their car around places where people waited at the bus stops. They would identify their target and one of them would stand near to the victim posing as a fellow passenger.
He would ask the victim about his destination and other things. The information shared by the victim would then be passed on to the associates waiting in the car near the bus stop. They would then come to the stop and give a ride to both of them, police said.
"The gang would then rob him off all his valuables. The Honda city car was being used in the commission of the crime," he said.
