Gang of human traffickers busted, 3 held

Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang of human traffickers with the arrest of three persons in connection with the rape of a 19-year-old girl who had been lured from West Bengal on the pretext of marriage and was being forced into prostitution.
The accused have been identified as Shahjahan Molliya (27), a native of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, Nafees (28) and a woman, both residents of Kabir Nagar in Delhi.
On May 24, a PCR call was received about a girl being beaten by two-three boys in Gali No 16 of Kabir Nagar, following which police rushed to the spot and rescued her.
"The girl, who was not able to speak or understand either Hindi or English, was taken to GTB Hospital where her medical examination was conducted which confirmed signs of sexual violence. During counseling, the girl revealed that her father was no more and that her mother worked as a tailor," a senior police official said.
The victim said Shahjahan, who was introduced to her by a a neighbour, told her that he will marry her and forced her to come to Delhi with him. "She left home on May 19 and reached old Delhi Railway Station the next day. The accused then took her to a hotel near Jama Masjid and got intimate with her forcibly on the pretext of marriage," the official said.
"Next morning, he took her to a house belonging to one Raju where they stayed for two nights. During the stay, the Shahjahan, Raju and some women assaulted her and tried to force her into prostitution.

"From there she was taken to another place owned by the arrested woman who along with two others tried to force her into prostitution. When the girl resisted, she was beaten up again," he said.
Based on her statement, a case was registered at Welcome police station on May 24 under relevant sections of the IPC.
"Three of the accused have been arrested. Further probe in the case is on," the official said.
