Gang of thieves busted, stolen steel rods recovered

With the arrest of 12 persons, police today claimed to have busted a gang involved in the theft of steel rods and construction materials here.
In a joint operation, the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police along with Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar police nabbed the thieves and recovered 200 tonnes of steel rods from their possession, additional superintendent of police, STF, Anant Dev said.
Besides this, the officials also seized five trucks, four motorcycles, 18 mobile phones, one pistol and Rs 3.38 lakh in cash from them, Dev said.
A case has been registered in this regard while the further probes are on, the STF official added.
