West Champaran Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Kumar Singh said the operation was conducted with the help of a Gujarat Police team that had come to Motihari seeking help in the matter.
The alleged theft took place on September 30
"The arrested persons are Harinarayan Sah and Naeem Dewan, both residents of Ghodasahan area in the district. We have recovered 60 smartphones, nine tablets, three watches and 58 mobile batteries from them," Singh said.
"This gang was known as 'sSutter-katwa' gang here. They had broken in one shop in Nadiad and fled with electronic gadgets. Kheda SP had investigated the case and managed to trace the persons involved. He had got in touch with us and requested for help," Singh said.
Police officials said the arrested persons are being interrogated about the missing mobile phones and the other crimes that they might have committed in Bihar and other states.
