Raising the issue during zero hour in the Rajasthan assembly, Jindal said it was not only an insult to the farmers but also of public representatives.
The MLA of National Unionist Zamindara Party said the farmers approached him for compensation for damage to their crops due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm but the collector instead threatened to put them behind bars.
Deputy whip of Congress Govind Singh Dotasara also demanded action against them.
Collector of Sri Ganganagar, P C Kishan was caught threatening a group of farmers on camera when they met him to seek compensation in his chamber on Monday.
