While Gangjee totalled two-over 144, the cut went at one-over 143.
Gangjee bogeyed the first but made up with birdies on the seventh and ninth and then added a third on 13th. He was on the line, but a bogey on the 18th ended his chances.
Steve LeBrun and Christopher DeForest shared the 36-hole lead at 7-under 135. Cameron Percy is alone in third place, two strokes behind them at the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club.
With the winds going up to as much as 30 mph at times during the day, LeBrun turned in a 4-under 67, which included six birdies. Like LeBrun, DeForest feels right at home playing in windy conditions and shot 70.
Both players are seeking their first career wins on the Web.Com Tour.
Jason Allred, who led after an opening-round 64, dropped into a tie for eighth place after a 4-over 75.
