Chiragh Kumar (72) was tied 35th, while Anirban Lahiri and Jyoti Randhawa, who had a good outing at the European Masters last week, were tied 52nd at one-over 73.
Himmat Rai (77) and Sujjan Singh (78) were in danger of missing the cut at tied 123rd and tied 128th.
Then he found three birdies in four holes on first, third and fourth. But a bogey on fifth saw him finish the day at 70.
