While Sushant Dhalasamant was taken to Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar, his younger brother Sushil was shifted to Balasore district jail, about 200 km from here.
Both the brothers along with 20 of their associates were lodged in Choudwar jail ever since they were arrested in January this year. The circle jail also had as inmates many members of the their rival, Tito group of Kendrapada district, officials said.
Citing law and order situation and to prevent showdown between the rival gang members, the police had last week obtained permission from a lower court here to shift the Dhalasamant brothers to two separate jails.
Meanwhile, ruling BJD's woman corporator of the city Ranjita Biswal appeared for the second time before the investigating officer of the Dhalasmant brothers' cases after being summoned.

Biswal was an executive member of a now-defunct youth organisation, which was floated and headed by Sushil for the past two years.
"As a law-abiding citizen, I responded to the IO's notice and answered the queries of the policemen to the best of my knowledge of the facts and circumstances," she said.
Another BJD corporator of the city, Chiranjay Sahu, also appeared before the IO for questioning.
