A mega manhunt has been launched in the neighbouring states to arrest alleged gangster Vikram alias Paras, who fled from police custody with sophisticated weapons after drugging four police personnel.
Vikram decamped with four MP5 sub-machine guns and 15 live cartridges, and the policemen escorting the gangster have been placed under suspension for "negligent behaviour".
According to the police, the incident came to light yesterday at around 2 AM when a PCR call was received that a policeman was lying unconscious in parking lot of Old Delhi Railway Station.
When a police team reached the spot, two more policemen were found unconscious at the platform while a fourth one was found wandering around the railway station searching Vikram in a dazed state.
The four policemen-- head constable Dinesh and constables Mir Singh, Ajay and Ramesh, belonging to the third battalion of Delhi police had taken the 27-year-old alleged gangster to Bhatinda on December 22.
He was produced in a court on December 23 there and then produced in another court in Punjab on December 24.

The policemen along with Vikram then left for Delhi by train at 2 PM on Tuesday from Bhatinda.
According to a senior police official of the third battalion, who spoke to the four policemen after they came out of the drug influence, said "they claimed that they had bought two bottles of juice and some mixture from Bhatinda which they consumed when the train reached Rohtak.
"After which they fell unconscious and do not remember anything. They have been suspended for negligent behaviour and further investigations are on."
A mega manhunt has been launched to nab Vikram with several teams of the Crime Branch and Special Cell of the Delhi Police are in the look out for him. The teams are raiding his suspected hideouts in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and other neighbouring states.
As per a top source, who is a close to the investigation of the case, "It seems that Vikram fled from somewhere between Rohtak and Delhi. He probably would not have waited for the train to reach Delhi. The sequence of events is still not clear because what happened after the guards felt unconscious cannot be corroborated.
