Police had registered an extortion and assault case against Naik for allegedly attacking a civic contractor.
The application will come up for hearing on Wednesday and the court has granted him protection from arrest for a day.
According to police, Naik's men had assaulted the contractor over a personal property dispute with his cousin, who had later approached Naik to recover the Rs 15 lakh that she had invested in the property.
A case of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and extortion was filed against Naik.
Naik had taken over the reigns of the gang following the death of his brother gangster Amar Naik.
