Eleven garbage transfer stations would be set up in Gurugram under the first phase of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Project, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here today.
These stations would generate a minimum of 10 MW of energy from the garbage on a daily basis and such facilities would be made available to other cities as well, he said in Gurugram today.
While flagging off 150 vehicles for garbage collection in Gurugram and Faridabad cities, Khattar said the areas where the garbage transfer stations would be set up were Atul Kataria Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase-I, Bajghera Road Choma, Carterpuri, Sheetla Mata Road, Saraswati Kunj, Chakkarpur, Sikanderpur Ghosi, Nathupur, Kadipur and Beri Wala Bagh.
The chief minister also laid foundation stones for 11 solid waste transfer stations in Gurugram, an official release said, adding that the entire state had been divided into 15 clusters for waste management and global tenders invited for each cluster.
He said that the project would be ready by February 2019.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters about the enforcement of the Clinical Establishment Act, Khattar said, "There are two Acts; one of the Centre and the other of the state government. Decision will be taken on which one should be implemented in the state," he said.
