Late film and TV mogul Garry Marshall's legacy is set to continue on Broadway with a stage adaptation of his film "The Flamingo Kid."
The filmmaker, who died last week aged 81, directed the 1984 coming-of-age movie starring Matt Dillon, and now it's set to be turned into a musical by producers Bob Israel and Larry Hirschhorn, reported Variety.
Producers are hoping to bring the 1960s-themed production to Broadway in the spring of 2018.
"The Flamingo Kid" also featured Marisa Tomei, Richard Crenna and Hector Elizondo.
The production is the latest film of Marshall's to be adapted for the stage - the beloved director had been working on a "Pretty Woman" musical prior to his death.
He recruited Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell to direct, with Canadian rocker Bryan Adams and his songwriting partner Jim Vallance composing the score.
