A special session of the Council was summoned on October 15 and on that day 20 members passed a no confidence motion against Engleng and elected Tuliram Ronghang as their Chief Executive Member.
Subsequently, Engleng filed a petition in the Gauhati High Court challenging the no confidence motion against him.
