Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is co-producing the project took to Twitter to share his excitement about the yet untitled movie.
"And @gauris journey with @aliaa08 and @iamsrk begins today!! Really excited!," Johar wrote.
Alia, 22, will be sharing the screen space with SRK for the first time, and the actress also posted an enthusiastic tweet.
"And a beautiful new journey begins!!!! Day one today for Gauris film. Wish me luckkkk @iamsrk @karanjohar @gauris," she wrote
The film is being produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, Johar's Dharma and Hope Productions.
