Gaya records lowest minimum temp at 5.4 degrees Celsius

Gaya today recorded Bihar's lowest minimum temperature at 5.4 degrees Celsius with the Met department forecasting fog or mist in the morning in major cities of the state tomorrow.
In its forecast, the Met bulletin said that Patna and Gaya may witness fog or mist in the morning with mainly clear sky later while Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness dense fog in the morning.
According to the bulletin, Bhagalpur recorded 6.2 degrees Celsius as minimum temperature while Patna and Purnea registered 7.1 and 8.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
The foggy weather situation today improved in the state capital as it witnessed sunshine since morning for the first time in the past one month, it said.
This was reflected in day's maximum temperature of Patna and Gaya which recorded 26.6 and 25.3 degrees Celsius respectively, three degrees above their normal maximum, the bulletin said.
Bhagalpur registered 23.6 degrees as its maximum while Purnea recorded 23.2 degrees Celsius, it said.
Gaya and Bhagalpur recorded 6 degrees Celsius below their normal minimum temperatures respectively, a Met official said adding that the minimum temperature is expected to rise in coming days.
