The Ghaziabad development authority (GDA) has issued notices to 120 private schools who are allegedly not providing reservation in admissions and concession in fees to children belonging to poor families.
GDA Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma said the authority has received many complaints that the school managements are not fulfilling the terms and conditions on which lands were provided to them.
Lands were allotted to the schools on concessional rates, on condition that they will provide 10 per cent reservation and 50 per cent concession in fees to the children from poor families, he said.
But as it has received complaints that admission and fee concession is not being provided to children from poor families, the notices were issued to the schools, Verma said.
The GDA will verify the veracity of the information provided by the school managements, he said.
Stringent action will be taken against the schools in case the GDA finds non-adherence of the norms or dubious facts provided by them.
