Geete holds on to ministry, says yet to receive direction
Press Trust of India New Delhi Despite Shiv Sena deciding to sit in opposition in the BJP-dominated Maharashtra Assembly, Union Minister Anant Geete continued to hold to his position in the ministry saying he was yet receive any direction from party chief Uddhav Thackeray on the future course of action.
A Cabinet Minister in the NDA government, Geete attended the first Council of Ministers meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the expansion of ministry yesterday.
"I was present at the meeting, but nothing was discussed pertaining to my ministry," the Minister for Heavy Industries said.
When asked whether he would quit the ministry, Geete said, "I have not got any direction from Uddhavji on this."
Yesterday, the Shiv Sena had boycotted the Cabinet expansion.
