Addressing a mass meeting in Sikar district, BJP state president Vasundhara Raje said all powers of primary education, medical, women and child development, social welfare and agriculture departments were devolved upon Panchayti Raj Institutions (PRIs) by the Ashok Gehlot-government but the exercise delivered no practical results.
She alleged that transfer of powers of these departments to PRIs did not meet with success and sarpanchs were also beaten up by the police when they demanded powers.
"Our villages are deprived of development activities because the government is not releasing adequate money," she said.
She also promised to stop migration of youths to other states for employment opportunities, if voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria, party's national vice president Satpal Malik, national secretary Bhupendra Yadav and other leaders were present in the meeting, which was part of the party's Suraj Sankalp Yatra.
