Police on a specific information that the explosives were being transported in a two wheeler, intensified patrol and vehicle checking on the Pudukottai-Tiruchi main road.
They stopped a two wheeler on suspicion at Muthudaiyan Patti and seized the gelatine sticks and detonators and detained the rider, Tirupathi (25), for questioning.
Police said Tirupathi told them that he was transporting it for digging wells.
