To achieve the ambitious plan of producing more coal, the WCL, a subsidiary of CIL, is looking towards young generation officers to come up with innovative ideas, and a seminar in this regard, titled 'Role of Gen Next - The future leaders in Vision - 2020', was held here yesterday.
Bhattacharya said that 80 per cent of the country's energy requirement is fulfilled by CIL and one should feel proud to work with the world's largest coal producer.
Sharing his experience as the Chairman of Coal India, he spoke about how CIL was steered into a profit-making company.
Guiding the young brigade, Bhattacharya said as future leaders they should shoulder the responsibilities with adequate preparations to help the company in achieving its ambitious growth target.
WCL Chairman and Managing Director Rajiv Ranjan Mishra brought forward 26 leaders from among the 500 young officers of the company to initiate an out-of-the-box thinking and suggest new ideas to achieve company's ambitious plans.
A Vision 2020 document of the company was also presented during the programme.
