The Punjab unit of Shiv Sena today held a state-level function here today to observe the death anniversary of General (Retd) A S Vaidya as "Balidan Divas".
The former Army Chief Vaidya was gunned down by terrorists on this day in Pune in 1986 for his role in Operation Blue star.
Sena's state unit chief Yog Raj Sharma were among those who paid glowing tributes to Vaidya for his stellar role in liberating Golden Temple complex from the clutches of terrorists.
A two-minutes silence was also observed as a tribute to five Indian soldiers, who were killed in an ambush by the Pakistani troops along the LoC on Tuesday.
