The long-running programme scored the top prize for the 11th time in its five-decade history, as well as Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team, and three acting accolades for Outstanding Supporting Actor for Sean Blakemore, Outstanding Younger Actor for Bryan Craig, and Outstanding Lead Actor for Tyler Christopher, reported Ace Showbiz.
This marked the first-ever victory for Tyler, who has portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on "General Hospital" on and off for the past 20 years, after being nominated twice for the same category in the past.
Meanwhile, "Live! With Kelly & Michael" co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan earned their second win together for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment Host.
The victory comes in the midst of the drama surrounding the former pro-athlete's decision to unexpectedly quit his post in favour of a co-hosting spot on breakfast show "Good Morning America."
Other notable winners include Mary Beth Evans (Outstanding Lead Actress, "Days of Our Lives"), Craig Ferguson (Outstanding Game Show Host, "Celebrity Name Game"), "The Talk" (Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment), and "Sesame Street" star Sonia Manzano, who was presented with the Lifetime Achievement prize.
