Last month, the app was in the top three applications on Apple's App Store and among the top downloads on Google Play.
"Healthkart plus is generating tremendous user responses and is already the No. 1 free medical app in 25 countries. In the last two weeks is got more than 2 lakh downloads. Since its launch in April last year it has witnessed over 3 lakh downloads," Healthkart co-founder Prashant Tandon told PTI.
About 50 lakh people have visited the app page, since last month.
Elaborating on the sudden increase in downloads, Tandon said: "Some of the users created messages and spread it on Whatsapp after which they got viral and people started checking the app."

The apps Facebook page likes have risen to 45,000, he added.
Presently, the app is available in English and Hindi, but buoyed by the response, Healthkart will soon launch it in other regional languages.
Apart from Healthkart plus, users are also using other Android apps like My Dawai and Get Med to get more information about the drugs that they are using.
