A guitar belonging to singer George Harrison, who shot to fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles, is expected to fetch around USD 360,000 at an auction next month.
The guitar, a 1962 Rickenbacker 425, is slated to go under the hammer in New York on May 17, reported Daily Express.
"This guitar is one of the most significant Beatles' guitars ever to come up for auction. It is a huge part of Beatles history," said Darren Julien, owner of Julien's Auctions.
The guitar only had three owners and one of them was George Harrison.
"George was pictured with the guitar on many occasions but there is also a photo of John Lennon playing the guitar which is very rare," Darren said.
Harrison played 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' on the guitar, the song which launched the band in America.
