Talking to PTI today, Renu Jogi said that she has responded to her party's show-cause notice.
In her clarification sent to Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) general secretary Girish Dewangan, she said that on November 5, she had gone to Jogisar village in Bilaspur district to celebrate 'nawakhai' festival with her family members. It was a religious function celebrated privately in the courtyard of a house.
In the reply, she said that getting a notice for sitting next to her husband and being with her family members during a festival is "surprising, sad and unfortunate".
Ajit Jogi, the husband of Renu Jogi, had quit the Congress last year and formed his own outfit - Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J).
The show cause notice, issued on November 6, said that reports of Renu Jogi attending the programme of JCC (J) in Pendra on November 5 were published in some newspapers.
