Ghar wapsi: Anti-conversion law needed, says Kalraj Mishra

He also made it clear that the BJP had nothing to do with the the 'ghar wapsi' programme of VHP

Amdist ongoing row over "ghar wapsi", BJP leader and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra today said an anti-coversion law was needed and every party must support it.

"We have been saying from the beginning that a law should be framed on conversion and every party should support it. I am of the opinion that an effective law should be enacted on this issue," he told PTI in an interview.

Kalraj said he had already favoured framing of such a law.

He also made it clear that the party had nothing to do with the the 'ghar wapsi' programme of VHP.

On the ongoing rift with its Jammu and Kashmir ally PDP over decision to release hardline Kashmiri separatist leader Masarat Alam, he said BJP would not tolerate any anti-national activity.

He said considering the present situation, the party has been issuing warning from time to time.

"I feel that the Prime Minister will finally take an effective stand in this regard," he said.

The senior BJP leader said any anti-national step would not be tolerated.

"The national leadership of BJP will take the right decision at the right time, but we won't tolerate anti-national activities," he said on ideological difference between PDP and BJP.

Mishra said if divisive forces are promoted, BJP would not accept it any cost.
