Students who demonstrate a combination of academic, sporting, personal and social skills, as well as strong participation in cricket, can vie for the Sir Donald Bradman annual scholarship student to study in Australia at the University of Wollongong (UOW).
Adam Gilchrist, who is UOW’s Ambassador to India today launched the scholarship named in honour of Sir Donald Bradman.
“I am particularly pleased the scholarship is not based just on academic performance. We are looking for a well-rounded young person who will be able to fulfill Sir Donald’s vision," said Gilchrist.
The scholarship will be awarded each year to an Indian student – male or female - who has completed secondary school.
UOW will give the student a 50 percent waiver of tuition fees for the duration of their chosen degree – making the scholarship worth many thousands of dollars.
The scholarship-holders will have the opportunity to become involved in the Bradman Foundation, who will become future ambassadors.
Scholarship application forms are available on the University website: www.uow.edu.au
