Ginger, select copra decline on subdued demand

Ginger, copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode prices declined at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid weak export off-take.
Ginger bleached and ginger unbleached moved down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 160 and Rs 180 from Monday's closing level of Rs 165 and Rs 185.
Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 5,900 and Rs 5,800 as against Rs 6,000 and Rs 5,900, respectively.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 675/735 (675/735), ginger bleached (per kg) 160 (165), ginger unbleached (per kg) 180 (185), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,900 (6,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 5,800 (5,900), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 13,500 (13,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,600 (7,600).
