Girl axed to death by man in Rajasthan

A 17-year-old girl was today allegedly axed to death by a man in Rajgarh area of Churu district, police said.
The incident occurred in Rajgarh area in the district this morning when the victim, identified as Karishma, was attacked by the accused with an axe while she was going to the field to collect grass along with her sister-in-law, SHO Rajgarh Bhagal Ram said.
The accused one Sanwat Ram, who hails from the same village, repeatedly kept hitting the girl on her neck leaving her dead on the spot. Meanwhile, Her sister-in-law Babita managed to escape from there and saved her life, he added.
The SHO said that the accused is absconding and motive behind the killing will only be ascertained once he is arrested.
