The accused youth Aatma Ram, 22, was arrested today from his village in Srigangangar district, they said.
The incident happened on April 29 when the girl was alone in her house. Ram entered the house and raped the girl following which she hanged herself from a ceiling hook, SHO, of Ramgarh police station, Mohan Lal said.
The victim's parents cremated the body on the same day and on May 3 they filed a police complaint after which the accused has been arrested today, he said.
