Falak Rafique Ansari was playing with her friends near the iron gate of Rameshwar temple yesterday evening when it suddenly came down crashing down on her, they said.
A case of accidental death had been registered with the Bhiwandi town police station.
The body of the child has been since sent for postmortem to the government hospital at Bhiwandi, police added.
