Reema was on her way back from tuition class in Nighasan when the truck loaded with sugarcane coming from the opposite direction hit her, police said.
She died on the spot, they said, adding, the truck driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
Later, locals staged a protest and set the truck on fire.
An FIR has been registered in this connection and a manhunt has been launched to nab the driver, they said.
