According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjay Jadhao, the victim along with her male companion were strolling in a deserted area in Datala village on the Datala-Dewada road last night.
Two youths, identified as Kunal Gujjar (22) and Ranjit Lokhande (23), both in an inebriated state accosted the couple near a bridge here, police said, adding, one of the accused thrashed the male companion and they allegedly raped the girl.
Later, the accused also reportedly robbed two mobile phones of the girl as well as her companion, besides an ATM card, after which the accused fled the spot.
Jadhao said that after a complaint by the victim at Ramnagar police station, a team of Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Ramnagar police detained both the accused.
"Both the accused have confessed to the crime during interrogation. We have booked them under section 376 (D), 392, 324 and 34 of Indian Penal Code against Gujjar and Lokhande. We shall produce them in the court on Tuesday," Jadhao said.
"We are also planning to take action against young couples who are often found wandering in isolated places in and around the city. Our team of sleuths would also patrol to prevent such untoward incidents in the future," Jadhao said.
