Girl harassed, blackmailed in Faridabad

A 22-year-old girl, resident of sector-16 of Faridabad, has accused a man of threatening, extortion and blackmailing her, police said.
In the complaint filed by the girl with police station Central Faridabad, she accused one Deepak Sharma of blackmailing, physical attack, breaking of furniture in her house and threatening her, her mother and the guard posted outside her house.
The girl said in her complaint that Deepak knew her from some time back, police said.
They used to talk on phone quiet frequently, they said.
However after some time Deepak started blackmailing the girl and asked her to get Rs 3 lakh from her parents, they added.

On 2nd May, the accused tried to molest her when she was in the market. The girl returned to home and Deepak also followed her, police said.

He also threatened to kill the girl and her parents in case the amount is not paid to him, they said.
After he left the place, the girl and her mother decided to inform the police about the incident.
On the complaint of the girl a case was registered under section 354A ( man committing physical contact), 384 (Punishment for extortion), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life) of IPC.
