The girl, identified as Barasha Talukdar, was hit by a stray bullet in her hand when she was in the kitchen of their house at Pragati Path in Rupnagar.
She was admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for treatment where doctors attending on her said that she was out of danger.
It was not yet clear as to who had fired the bullet and police investigations was on, sources said.
