Priya Singh (19) was killed when the tempo in which she was travelling overturned due to dense fog in Babuganj Bazar, it said.
According to the MeT Department, fog occurred at most places over the state and cold conditions prevailed at a few places.
Temperature fell appreciably at Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Lucknow, Bareilly, Meerut divisions and changed little in remaining divisions of the state.
The mercury was below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi Faizabad divisions, appreciably below normal in Allahabad, Lucknow, Bareilly divisions, below normal in Kanpur division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
The MeT Department has said that rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places over west UP tomorrow.
