A nine-year-old girl lost her eyesight at a government's hospital here allegedly due to negligence of doctors, a charge denied by the hospital administration.
The minor girl, a resident of Bharatpur, was admitted to J K Lon Child Hospital on April 21 as she was in coma with high fever.
She gained consciousness four days later, on April 25. But her vision was blurred. After treatment for her eye problem at the hospital, the girl was discharged on May 25.
A couple of days ago, the girl's uncle Mangal Singh alleged that the doctors did not take proper care of his niece despite repeated request.
The hospital today rejected the allegations of negligence.
"The treatment was done by a team of pediatric neurodivision. Due to medical conditions of tubercular meningitis, her eyesight was lost but there was no negligence on part of the doctors," Dr U S Agrawal, Principal of the SMS Medical College said.

"Seven referral were made to the ophthalmologist during the treatment and it was done according to their advice. The girl's uncle gave us a written complaint yesterday against behaviour of a resident doctor and we are examining it," Dr Sitaraman said.
