A 10-year-old girl, who was abducted from outside her home seven months ago, has been reunited with her father in Rajasthan, police said today.
The girl was spotted crying by a local media person on a road in Antah town of Baran district on Friday evening, following which he took the minor to the police station, said Antah police station Station House Officer Ramanand Yadav.
The police had yesterday informed the Baran child welfare committee (CWC), where the girl revealed about her abduction from outside her home in the state's Sawai Madhopur city, the SHO said, adding that four people, including two women, have been arrested. According to her father's missing complaint on January 2, the minor went missing on December 23 last year.
Revealing her ordeal, the girl said she was abducted by three persons and brought to Antah -- 154 km from her home -- where she was living with a family on the outskirts of the town. The minor was forced to carry out all household works, but somehow managed to flee on Friday, CWC chairman Ashok Pradhan said.
The girl was handed over to her father, Bhole Rana -- a native of Madhya Pradesh and working as a daily-wage labourer in Sawai Madhopur, Pradhan said.
The CWC has asked the police to identify the other accused involved and probe the abduction of other children in the area, he added.
