Hoping the matter would be resolved satisfactorily, Colonel P Bakshi, father of Heena Bakshi, said his daughter was distressed over police not taking any concrete action following the theft of her vehicle.
"I have talked to senior police officials and hope they will take a lenient view on the matter," he said.
Heena, who claims to be winner of the Geeta Chopra bravery award over a decade ago for nabbing a burglar, was booked Friday for posting allegedly abusive comments on the Facebook page of the Chandigarh Traffic Police.
Another person was also booked under various sections of the Information Technology Act following a complaint by traffic police personnel.
