"Now, Gita Jayanti would also be acknowledged as Haryana Mahotsav. 'Aarti' would be performed at the holy bank of Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra throughout the year, which will be similar to that in Varanasi," Khattar said.
Notably, Haryana was carved out as a separate State on November 1, 1966.
The Chief Minister was speaking to reporters after performing 'Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Pujan' ceremony at the holy bank of Brahma Sarovar, on the concluding day of Kurukshetra Mahotsava-Gita Jayanti Samaroh.
"Gita followers, specialists, theorists, saints from all over the world would be invited to this international Gita Mahotsav so as to spread the message of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita to every corner of the world," the CM added.

He said Gita Jayanti would be known as 'Haryana Mahotsava' on the lines of Pongal festival of Tamil Nadu and Baisakhi of Punjab.
However, later, BJP MLA from Thanesar, Subhash Sudha, told media persons that the name of Kurukshetra University would not be changed.
A few days back, Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma while speaking at a function here had proposed that the name of Kurukshetra University will be changed and will be named after Bhagwad Gita.
