"If Omar Abdullah is keen to see our (separatists) representative character, he should end my detention and give Hurriyat permission to call a rally at Lal Chowk," Geelani said in a statement here.
The chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference said the rally would decide who represents the people.
The Hurriyat hardliner was reacting to Omar's statement in which he had said mainstream parties were ready to take on separatists in elections.
"Let the people decide who is going to represent them," Omar had said yesterday.
