The GJM delegation would be led by chief Bimal Gurung, party general secretary Roshan Giri told PTI from Darjeeling.
The same five-member delegation had met P Chidambaram in New Delhi yesterday on the issue and had been told by the Union Home Minister to take part in the elections to the new hill council.
Earlier, having failed to reach a consensus on whether to participate in GTA elections, the GJM leadership had said that representatives led by Gurung would meet Chidambaram and later the West Bengal chief minister.
Gurung informed Chidambaram of the GJM's opposition to the recommendations of the high-powered committee appointed by the state government on transfer of five Gorkha-dominated areas in the Terai and Dooars in the plains against his party's demand for 396 to be under the GTA.
