Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty, best known for his high-grossing masala entertainers, says he will continue to make such movies as he wants to give the audience a stress free two hours in theatres.
"There is so much stress all around us. We all need a break from all that and hence we go to movies. I want to provide sheer happiness to the audience. They should just come and have fun and leave the theatres with a smile on their face," Shetty said on the sidelines of IFFI.
Shetty, who has directed the "Golmaal" series, "Singham", "Bol Bachchan" and the latest "Chennai Express", is not just happy to see his films do well at the box-office but is glad that there is also a huge market for off-beat films like "The Luncbox".
"We are in a very happy state right now. As a filmmaker, actor or producer, one can't ask for a better phase in Indian cinema. There is a platform for every kind of films. People are open to watch a 'Chennai Express' and also a 'Kai Po Che' or 'The Lunchbox'," he said.
Shetty, who has shot most of his films in Goa, will be felicitated by the government here for his efforts to put the image of the state on the global map.
"I love Goa and that is why I shoot most of my films here. Another reason is that Goa is so clean and organized and the authorities are so hassle free and very co-operative to me and my team. Even the people are very helpful... All these things make Goa the ideal place to shoot my films," Shetty said.
